INSURANCE:
WHAT THE
TERMS MEAN
Wherever you see the following words or phrases appear in this
policy, they will be shown in Bold and have the following
meanings:
Accidental damage
Damage caused suddenly and unexpectedly by an outside force.
Buildings
Your home, including any swimming pool, patio, terrace, tennis
court, wall, fence, hedge, drive, footpath, landlord’s fixtures
and fittings, service tank, drain, septic tank, pipe, cable or
central-heating fuel tank.
Contents
Household goods and personal belongings (including money and
valuables up to the limit shown in your schedule) which:
• are yours;
• you are legally responsible for; or
• belong to domestic employees who live with you.
If you are not responsible for insuring the buildings, ‘contents’
includes fixtures, fittings and decorations that you are liable
for because you are a tenant or because you own them.
Endorsements
Changes in the terms of your policy these are shown in your
schedule.
Excess
The amount you will have to pay towards a claim.
Home
The house or flat and its outbuildings at the address shown on
your schedule and its garages (all used only for domestic
purposes).
Money
Cash, cheques, money orders, postal orders, current postage stamps
(not part of a collection), National Insurance stamps, savings
stamps or certificates, premium bonds, traveler’s cheques, travel
tickets, luncheon vouchers, gift tokens and phone cards.
Pedal cycle
Any pedal cycle which belongs to you and any accessories attached
to it.
Personal belongings
Luggage, clothing, sports, musical and photographic equipment and
other items which you normally wear, or carry with you. All items
must belong to you or be your legal responsibility.
Sum insured
The amount shown in your schedule as the most we will pay for
claims resulting from one incident.
Unfurnished
Does not contain enough furniture for normal living purposes.
Unoccupied
Not lived in by you or any other person with your permission.
Valuables
Stamp, coin or medal collections, antiques (not including
furniture), collectables, pictures, other works of art, items of
gold, silver or other precious metals, jewellery, watches and
furs.
We, us, our
Seker Sigorta (Kibris) Ltd.
You, your
• The policyholder named in your schedule.
• The husband or wife of the policyholder, or the policyholder’s
partner who lives at the same address as the policyholder and
shares financial responsibilities. This does not include any
business partners or associates.
• Members of the policyholder’s family who live with them
permanently.
